Movers in Essa, Ontario

Zero Hour Moving works with military families posted to CFB Borden, farm households and younger families settling across Essa Township. Turnover here is high, with many residents arriving from other provinces and from elsewhere in Ontario, and most homes are roomy detached houses, so moves tend to be full-household jobs, often built around a fixed posting or closing date.

Essa is part of Simcoe County. Our crews move people across the whole region.

Moving in Essa: Angus homes, farm properties and military postings

Detached houses account for about three in four homes in Essa, and big family layouts are the norm, so a typical move here is a full load with a basement, garage and garden shed to clear. Semi-detached houses are the next most common type, while condos are almost non-existent. About one in five households rent, which adds a steady flow of lease-end moves alongside home sales. Recent construction has added newer subdivisions, but older farmhouses and rural homes are still spread across the township, and those older layouts can mean narrower stairs and more outbuildings to empty.

Essa is framed by County Road 90 to the north, County Road 27 to the east and Highway 89 to the south, and those roads carry most trips toward Barrie and south toward Toronto. Angus, in the township's northwest corner, is the main gateway to CFB Borden, and military postings add to the movement here: nearly half of residents lived at a different address five years earlier. Away from the villages, potato farms and small hamlets such as Utopia, Egbert and Colwell sit along country roads, so tell us about long lanes, gates or farm equipment near the house before the truck is booked.

We serve the whole township: Angus, Thornton and Baxter, plus hamlets like Cedargrove, Elmgrove, Hoe Doe Valley, Ivy and West Essa. Barrie is roughly 16 km away, and we often run moves between Essa and Barrie, Innisfil or New Tecumseth, while Toronto sits roughly 74 km south. When a posting or a new job takes you out of Ontario, our long-distance service reaches every province, and we can also receive households arriving from elsewhere in Canada. Tell us your report date or closing date and we will build a plan and a quote around it.
