Tell us the home size, addresses, moving date and any specialty items. For larger homes we do a 15-minute video walkthrough so the estimate is accurate.

Confirm crew, truck and time
You receive a written quote with the crew size, truck, arrival window and hourly or fixed price. A small deposit locks in the date.

If you booked packing, our packers arrive the day before with boxes, paper and wardrobe cartons and pack the whole home in a day.

Moving day: protect and load
The crew lays floor runners, wraps furniture, disassembles beds and tables and loads the truck in a planned sequence so nothing shifts.

Deliver, place and rebuild

How To Prepare For Moving Day
A little preparation saves crew hours, which saves you money. Here is the checklist we send every customer.
- Book elevators and parking with both buildings or municipalities a week ahead.
- Label every box with the destination room and a number, and keep an inventory list.
- Pack a first-night bag: bedding, toiletries, chargers, medication, kettle and snacks.
- Every job is quoted individually and in writing, based on the size of the move, the access at both ends and the services you choose. Quotes are free and there are no hidden fees.
- Disconnect washers, dryers and gas appliances, or ask us to arrange it.
- Photograph the back of your TV and electronics before unplugging cables.
- Keep valuables, passports, cash and jewellery with you, not in the truck.
- Clear walkways, driveways and stairs, and shovel or salt in winter.
- Set aside items that are not going, and mark them clearly.

Are your house movers insured?
Yes. Zero Hour Moving carries commercial liability and cargo insurance. Basic coverage is included with every move, and full replacement-value protection can be added before moving day for a small additional charge.
How far in advance should I book a house move?
Two to three weeks for a local move and four to six weeks for a long-distance or month-end date. We keep some capacity for last-minute moves, so call even if your date is tomorrow.
How long does it take to move a 3-bedroom house?
Every job is quoted individually and in writing, based on the size of the move, the access at both ends and the services you choose. Quotes are free and there are no hidden fees.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
A small deposit secures your date and is deducted from the final invoice.
Do you supply boxes and packing materials?
Yes. Boxes, wardrobe cartons, dish packs, paper, bubble wrap and mattress bags can be delivered before your move or included with our packing service.
What should I not pack in the truck?
Cash, jewellery, passports, medication, important documents, propane, fuel, paint and other hazardous materials. Keep these with you.
Can you move my home on a weekend or evening?
Yes. We work seven days a week, including evenings and most holidays. Weekend dates book up first, so reserve early.
What happens if something gets damaged?
Claims are settled according to the coverage you selected, and we resolve them quickly.
