Movers in Schreiber, Ontario

Schreiber is a small railway-minded township on Highway 17, where most homes are older detached houses and the nearest big city is a long drive away. Zero Hour Moving crews help local households move on and off the north shore, with planning built around winter wind, distance and older housing.

Roughly six in seven homes in Schreiber are detached houses, and about half were built before the 1960s. Expect older basements, steeper stairs and narrower doorways than in a new subdivision. Around one in six households rent, a share of those in low-rise apartment buildings, and nearly two in five households are one person, so smaller moves are common. Condos are very rare, and there has been almost no new building lately, so most moves swap one older home for another.

Highway 17 is the only real route in and out, and the town sits in a bowl of higher ground that funnels wind through in winter, so snow and blowing conditions can slow a move at short notice. Keep some flexibility in your dates between late autumn and spring. Because the township has long been a railway crew-change point, some households move because of work postings, and those often come with tight schedules, so tell us as early as you can.

Our crews serve Schreiber and nearby places such as Terrace Bay, about 12 km away, as well as Rossport, Marathon, Nipigon and Red Rock. Thunder Bay, the nearest large centre, is roughly 153 km away, and Toronto is roughly 834 km, so any move out of the area is a proper road trip that we plan around fuel, loading order and weather. Send us your addresses and a description of the homes at both ends, and we will quote your move.
